About Melissa

With nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, including career counseling, Melissa received her BA from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and her MA in Counseling and Higher Education Administration from Minnesota State University - Mankato. She has completed additional training in career counseling, strengths-based counseling, positive psychology, parenting and career-related assessments.
Melissa serves as adjunct faculty at Naropa University, a Buddhist-inspired university in Boulder, CO which combines eastern practices of meditation and contemplation with western approach to knowledge, teaching career counseling, transitions and positive psychology in the Transpersonal Counseling Psychology program.
She has coordinated programs and workshops to support emerging entrepreneurs to create a healthy private practice and/or business. She has a small teaching practice as well, devoted to teaching individuals and groups how to create a sane, sustainable work life through mindfulness practices, called Mindfully Work. She has presented at conferences and to organizations on creating mindfulness in the workplace to develop a sane and thriving work life.
She lives in Boulder, CO with her husband, young son and two fuzzybutts (of the feline variety).
